I have recently become a brand ambassador for Uber New York; Uber is a wicked company that seamlessly connects you with a driver anywhere in the city (it is available in 31 countries around the world, so everyone should get it). All you have to do is sign up and download the Uber app and with the tap of a button you can have a driver ready to pick you up instantly! The app is so simple and it lets you choose whatever ride suits your style and occasion (including UberX, which is actually cheaper than a cab and WAY more stylish). Uber is connected to your credit card so you never have to worry about having cash (or tipping) and it makes it super easy to split the fare with your friends. Uber is such an incredible service and so convenient for anyone who lives in the city, so download it now guys! PLEASE USE PROMO CODE: BANYC13 and help me get as many people signed up to Uber as possible.
Get all of your friends to sign up with the promo code and start using Uber any time you need to get somewhere! (So much more stylish than a cab).
You’re all the best! (Don’t forget the promo code, BANYC13)

Cosmopolitan recently released an article in which IMG Models announced that they would no longer be hiring models based on their old standards. "We want to be an ageless, raceless, weightless agency," IMG Models Senior Vice President and Managing Director Ivan Bart told Cosmopolitan.com. "We just want to represent the best people in the industry."
In one of my classes at FIT, we recently did a case study on Image Altercations and the detrimental effects that photoshop in advertising and that the use of unnaturally skinny models can have on consumers’ body image. According to an article featured in Women’s Wear Daily, approximately 10 million people in the U.S. are affected by eating disorders (Bowers, 2010).
It’s incredible to see an agency, like IMG, that has such a strong presence in the world of fashion, making strides like this to promote a healthy body image and to hire talent that is represents a diverse range of beauty. Hopefully the agency’s bold step will help to encourage the rest of the fashion industry to follow suit!
